2017 Youth Bio - Lexi McGowan

Lexi McGowan

lexi mcgowan

My name is Lexi McGowan and my horse’s name is Sudden Attraction (AKA Jackson). My trainer is Kerri DeKubber. I started riding when friends recommended it, starting in 4-H, then Zone and now AQHA. I’ve been showing for a total of 8 years.

Jackson and I have been together for just over two years. Our favorite class to compete in is Trail. It’s more interesting and different than other classes and my horse is good at it.

Outside of the horse shows I play volleyball and soccer and play the piano and violin. My favorite subject in school is math. My idol is Cassie Strickland because she plays volleyball for UW in a similar position as me, and she isn’t very tall but is very good.

If Jackson could talk he’s probably say, “But I don’t want to leave my stall!” He has several favorite treats but enjoys eating my hand the most ;)

Our goals this season are to show competitively in Trail and Western Pleasure, and to begin Hunt Seat and Western Riding.
