My name is Isabella Laguna and my horse’s name is A Passing Touch (AKA Lydia). We have shown a lot of years together. My trainer is my mom, we train at home on our ranch in Snoqualmie, WA.
I’ve been showing for ten years. I started out in Walk Trot, then moved to All Around, then my mom let me run the barrels at a Region One show and I loved it! I prefer classes that are at a fast pace. I love barrels, poles, reining, and most recently really like ranch riding. I also enjoy some of the fun classes like ‘ride-a-buck’ because I like to ride bareback.
In school I run on the Cross Country team and I love to sing in Choir. I am also an Alter Server for our parish Our Lady of Sorrows in Snoqualmie.
If Lydia could say anything it might be, “where’s my next meal?” and “get me out of this stall!”
My idol is Clinton Anderson, I love his techniques in training horses.
This year I attended the YES Convention in Texas. I campaigned and was elected to be an AQHYA Youth Director for Region One. My goal for next year is to ride in as many ranch riding classes that I can, and to qualify for the Youth World Show. I am also very involved with WSQHYA.
