My name is Kaitlin Dierks, and my horse is Scottie (aka Scotch n Te). Scottie and I have been together for six months. I started showing in 4H when I was nine on my first horse named Rain doing English and Western.
My trainer is Paige Stroud, in Monroe WA. I have been riding for ten years, and showing for six. I love showing in Trail because Scottie enjoys it and he's good at it, and in Hunt Seat Equitation because it's always an event I can progress in.
I enjoy several other sports as well: Competitive swim, softball, and running! My favorite subject in school is Biology because it is a relative subject and there will always be some kind of explanation behind everything.
My idol is my trainer, Paige. She works hard and is well respected by everyone and has taught me how to be a more confident rider and person. My goals this show season is to finish as a finalist at the Novice Championships, and to place at the local shows in the Youth classes.
I was honored to be asked to blog for the Journal at the OQHA March Irish Classic. I hope to do that again soon.
Something you might not know about me? If you ever take me to dinner, always expect that I will order dessert. If I don't, there's something wrong!
